This work examines the role of food within evolving family dynamics, specifically the shift of caregiving and financial responsibility from father to mother. Framed through the iconography of Hong Kong’s Economy Rice culture, the work explores food as a means of negotiating shifting gender roles and emotional labor within the artist’s family. The installation offers a tactile, visual, and sonic digestion of economic and emotional transitions.
