《PROMISE》 是一件以個人財務文件為材料的文字作品。作品使用一張 Promise 財務月結單，將貸款、還款計劃與手寫筆記並置，記錄藝術家在畢業作品完成後，面對財政壓力與生活現實的一刻。
作品標題 PROMISE 同時指向財務公司的名稱，也指向藝術家對自己的承諾。畢業展原本象徵藝術生涯的開始，但在作品中，它首先帶來的是債務、租金、工作室、生活開支與還款責任。藝術家在文件上寫下還清貸款的計劃，並提醒自己：「應承自己，好好做人。」
在這件作品中，「承諾」不再是浪漫或抽象的道德語言，而是一種與金錢、時間和生存有關的自我管理。它呈現一個年輕藝術家在離開學校之後，如何從創作理想跌入現實帳目之中：先還債，再想工作室；先維持生活，再繼續做藝術。
《PROMISE》 以近乎乾燥而直接的方式，思考藝術勞動背後經常被隱藏的財政壓力。作品追問：在成為藝術家之前，是否必須先成為一個「財政健康」的人？而所謂「好好做人」，是否也包含了學會面對那些一直被拖延、不想處理，卻始終存在的債務？
PROMISE is a text-based work made from a personal financial document. Using a monthly statement from Promise, a loan company, the work brings together debt, repayment plans, and handwritten notes, recording a moment of financial pressure after the completion of the artist’s graduation work.
The title PROMISE refers both to the name of the finance company and to a promise the artist makes to herself. While a graduation exhibition is often imagined as the beginning of an artistic career, here it is immediately followed by debt, rent, studio costs, living expenses, and the responsibility to repay. On the document, the artist writes down a plan to clear her loans, reminding herself: “Promise yourself to be a good person.”
In this work, a promise is no longer a romantic or abstract moral statement. It becomes a form of self-management shaped by money, time, and survival. PROMISE captures the moment when a young artist leaves school and confronts the practical accounts behind artistic ambition: pay off the loans first, think about the studio later; maintain life first, continue art after.
Through a dry and direct gesture, PROMISE reflects on the financial pressure often hidden behind artistic labour. The work asks whether becoming an artist also requires becoming a financially “healthy” subject, and whether being a “good person” means learning to face the debts that one has avoided for too long.
