《基因髮廊的紅房子》呈現一段半虛構的千年歷史，從2018年第一個基因編輯人類嬰兒的誕生，到2020年全球新冠肺炎大流行，再到3018年基因髮廊的誕生。
這段歷史通過短片、文本，現成物和雕塑的展示，揭開基因髮廊牽涉的歷史事件和局勢，當中包含發生過和可能發生的歷史情景，它們如何觸發了這個未來的誕生。
展場正在醞釀著危險、緊迫和暫時的氣氛。 這個房間裡的展品滿是灰塵，有些已經支離破碎。 當投影儀大多時間不在運作，觀眾需要用手電筒上體驗，房間瞬時變成考古遺址； 當投影儀播放視頻時，房間立即變成放映室。

Genetic Salon: Red Room (2021) stages a fragment of a forgotten timeline—from the first gene-edited babies (2018) and the global pandemic (2020) to the imagined emergence of Genetic Salon a thousand years later. The room functions like a ruined museum display: video, text and archival objects present genetic engineering as civilisation’s core narrative, yet everything appears abandoned—dusty, partial, and breaking down.
A projector throws a mostly red image, as if the apparatus is failing, leaving only residue and ambience. The installation’s video is an excerpt from Genetic Salon: Waiting Room.
